Sonic the Movie Sonic the Hedgehog) is a 2020 American-Japanese fantasy adventure film based on the video game franchise of the same name published by Sega. Fowler was hired to direct in 2016. After Sony got the project off the ground, Paramount Pictures acquired it in 2017, with most of the cast already signed to contracts by August 2018.
